Electric Concept Vehicles

The following are electric concept vehicles:

Mini QED - A demonstration vehicle to showcase the best electric drive system in the world! PML has developed the independent Quad Electric Drive wheel motors.

Chevy Volt
- Introducing a new kind of electric vehicle — Concept Chevy Volt. It’s unlike any previous EV (electric vehicle), thanks to its innovative rechargeable electric drive system and range-extending power source. It can be configured to run on electricity, gasoline, E85 or biodiesel. So you have at least a couple of options for the most efficient drive — all made possible by GMs innovative E-Flex Propulsion System.

Nissan Mixim - Nissan’s concept explores urban transportation and is in line with the Nissan Green Program, the desire to create a more sustainable mobile society. Mixim takes the most up-to-date electric vehicle (EV) technology and clothes it in a slender and distinctive coupe shape. The driver sits centrally, with two seats either side, while the steering wheel and controls are inspired by the interfaces so familiar to computer gamers. Powered by Nissan’s “Super Motor” electric motor/generator and using compact lithium-ion batteries, Mixim promises unusually rapid performance combined with a usefully extended range.

Opel Flextreme- This showcases “E-Flex,” the latest thinking from GM’s European subsidiary on how its gargantuan investment in fuel cells and electric drive might — eventually — lead to real cars for real people. The core principle of “E-Flex” is electric propulsion, with the clever bit being that there are many possible sources for the electricity. In the terrific-looking Flextreme, the source is a small diesel engine linked to a generator (not the wheels). It will supposedly burn just 1.5 liters per 100 km (155 mpg), and emit 40 g/km (or 40 g/.62 mi.) CO2. The Segways in the trunk may be a fantasy but the diesel-electric idea isn’t — it’s been used in diesel-powered trains for decades.

EV-X7 Sumo Electric motorcycle - a prototype created by the Axle Corporation in Japan uses a new hybrid magnetic technology that combines electro-magnets with permanent magnets to achieve incredible range and power. This allows the EV-X7 reaches speeds of 93Mph and has a range of 110 miles on a single 6 hour charge, which is pretty amazing considering there can't be that much space for onboard batteries in a motorcycle.

Volvo Recharge - it's a hybrid like the Chevy Volt. It can go 100kms on electric only. It has a flexifuel engine that recharges the battery pack in only 3 hours for a complete charge. The top speed is 160kms/hr. This car will do 1-100km/hr in 9 seconds! It's also an all wheel drive.
